Sebastian Wood

Sebastian is the Managing Director of one of the UK’s largest merchant services provider, Nexpay.  Sebastian has been working in the card payment fraud sector for the past eight years and has been privileged to work with many international brands, including Toni & Guy Hairdressing and Pandora Jewellery.

His work focuses on implementing security procedures to mitigate and eliminate card payment fraud. His strategies extend to in-store EPOS and card machines, as well as attacks made online or over the phone. In doing so, he has helped to protect over £1bn of card payments. It is this vast knowledge of the sector that inspired the development of the training program, “Fraud Defence First”.

Before working in the payment industry, Sebastian was the director of a successful web development company. E-Commerce retail websites made up a large proportion of the client base. It was here that Sebastian began to gain a deeper understanding of how fraudsters work, and the most effective ways to beat them. He was responsible for protecting £12m of customer payments per annum, from online fraud.
